Q. I just purchased a StratoRock recently and I really like the idea of the Swarovski crystals. Is there an upgrade program for people who already own a StratoRock model?
A. Yes, providing that the watch body surface is in good condition. If you own an original StratoRock (with the whammy bar installed), the whammy bar must be removed to perform the Swarovski crystal upgrade service. The cost is $29.95 and includes return shipping charges. We guarantee a one week turaround time from the day we receive it. If you are interested in the Swarovski upgrade program, email us at sales@wristrock.com for an RMA number to return and track your shipment to us.

Q. Speaking of the whammy bar, that little lever that sticks out from the side of ther watch, I noticed that the photos on your website don't have them anymore. I thought that looked really cool. Can I still get a StratoRock with the whammy bar on it?
A. We agree with you that the whammy bar looks cool. We always try to design and build as close to the vintage guitar we are celebrating as is practical. Therein lies what happened to the whammy bar. We listen to our customers. We did have a couple incidents where the whammy bar would get jarred loose. It swings like a pinwheel when the epoxy joint is breeched.
Once loose, it can catch on clothing. When polled, some of our customers wanted it, some didn't care, and some wanted it removed. (What's that about pleasing all of the people all of the time? Some of the time? Whatever...) As of June, 2008, we made the modification and changed the website photos. To customers who received watches since that date, it simply looks like the 1/4" plug in for the amplifier. No sweat.
For those who feel they want the whammy bar, can you still get a StratoRock with a whammy bar on it? Yes, you can. Simply put this request in the "Comments" area of our secure, on-line ordering system and we will ship yours with the whammy bar at no additional charge.
Note: Exception to the above is with the new Strat-O-Bling models. With the Swarovski crystal installation, it is not possible to also host a whammy bar.

Q. I was careless taking off the strap and ripped a rivet out of the band. What do I do?
A. These are novelty watches and though they are of a high quality, they need to be taken care of. This is particularly true with the Strat-O-Bling collection. (The Swarovski crystals are affixed to the watch body with the strongest, "green" epoxy and have been field tested. While sturdy, they are not meant for skateboarding, swimming, or softball games. If you do need replacement parts, they are available from WristRock. Replacement lower wrist bands are available for $5. Top bands (with headstock and string assembly) are $10. Total refurbishment of any watch (new top and bottom bands, battery, and cleaning) has a base cost of $30. All prices include shipping or mailing charges. We do request a digital photo of your watch repair/upgrade before issuing an RMA number for its return.
Note: All parts for StratoRock and Strat-O-Bling are available. While most parts can be supplied by WristRock for total refurbuishment of Gibson models, watch bodies are not available for all Gibson models (i.e. Firebird, Les Paul Custom, Explorer, and certain colors of SG, Nighthawks, and Flying V's.)

Q. Are the watches water-resistant?
A. This is a novelty watch. While it is a sturdy, stainless steel back and baked hard acrylic plating, it is not meant the to be worn in the water…. Nor changing your tire or the neighborhood touch football game. It was made in detail to be as much like the guitar it models. It deserves almost equal treatment as your real guitar.

Q. What is meant by quartz?
A. Quartz means the watch runs on a battery. Average battery life is 5-10 years depending on whether you leave it running when unworn. Batteries should last 5 years, but not guaranteed, of course. All Gibson and WristRock watch models take a common watch battery that can be found everywhere. It is known as the #377 watch battery and sells for around $3.
If you choose to replace the battery yourself, it should be done, with care, by the owner or your local jeweler. Care should be exercized when removing the stainless steel watch back and snapping the back plate on again. (Jewelers have a special tool for this.)
Gently pry the back off with a small screwdriver or knife point into a notch that is appx at the 12 o'clock position. (The notch is small but it's there.)
You can also fit the same small screwdriver UNDER the battery and pop it out. Be careful not to force it or bend any of the thin metal mounts that surround it. Put the new one in reversing the path how you took the old one out: at an angle that allows you to push the battery down into place.
If you wish for WristRock to change the battery, you can get an RMA # via email and return it to us for replacement. Replacement batteries are on our parts list under “General Policies”. Unlike a warranty repair where WristRock pays for shipping a repaired item back to our customers, for battery replacement, the customer pays the freight both ways.

Q. How do I set the time?
A. First, don’t forget to carefully slide off the plastic locking mechanism the watch is shipped with. This is there to keep the stem from being pushed in while in transit, thus wearing down your battery. To set time, you need to turn button in anti-clockwise direction if you have a screw-in lock watch. You need to softly pull the button out a little bit. The best way to do this is to use first and second finger and use finger knuckle as a lever in order to pull the button out with as little force as possible. You can feel a little "click"! Now you can set the time by turning it anti-clockwise. This would turn the minute-hour hands forward until you set the right time. When time is set, push the button back.

Q. What do I do if I have a problem with the watch?
A. It doesn’t matter which of our reseller partners you purchased the watch from. WristRock takes care of both in and out of warranty repairs IF the watch was purchased from an authorized WristRock reseller (Dealer Directory now listed under “Dealers & Partners" key.) Simply email sales@wristrock.com with your date of purchase and receipt number from original date of purchase. WristRock does not service watches from auction sites, garage sales, or other unauthorized sources.

Q. My lower band is wearing out where the clasp hooks onto the rivet. Can I get just a replacement lower band or do I have to send the watch in for service?
A. You can order a bottom band replacement from the website. Current cost is $4.50 with no shipping charges as it can be simply mailed to you. You can change the lower band yourself by carefully removing the pin that holds the band to the watch body (like any other watchband). You will reuse the same pin and slid it through the end loop on the replacement band. Then reattach the band to watch body by inserting the pin into the two small holes drilled on the inside of the watch body frame. All parts and accessories for WristRock products can be found on this website under the "General Policies" key.

Q. How do I order a watch from WristRock’s secure website?
A. Click on button of whatever model you're interested in from one of the four product buttons on the left of your screen: Gibson's Les Paul SG, Flying V, or Nighthawk, and WristRock's own “serialized” StratoRock Series. That takes you to the product order screen. Choose your size. The default is set to "standard" size (up to 8" diameter wrist) or change the drop down menu to "large" (up to 10" diameter wrist). Click on "Order" button. Make sure the quantity reflects the number you wish to order and click on "Update". The total will reflect the unit price times the number of watches ordered. Click on "Checkout" and fill in the shipping information. Be sure to fill in all fields. Click “Continue”. The next screen is the billing information. Make sure the billing address matches the billing address of your credit card or the order may be delayed.
Click “Continue” and you will see an order review screen... a summary of your choices. Check for mistakes in your order: model, quantity, address, postal code, credit card number, expiration date and phone number. If correct, click "Send order". If incorrect, you can edit billing and shipping info only. If the model or quantity is wrong at this point in the process, you must click on "Cancel" and begin the process over.
That's it. Simple, user-friendly, accurate, and most importantly, secure with Yahoo’s state-of-the-art eCommerce system.

Q. I have a musical instrument store. We sell a lot of guitars and have many music students that would like one of these (especially at Christmas). How can my store become an authorized WristRock dealer?
A. WristRock appoints new dealers in cities where we currently do not have one. There is no minimum order requirements or minimum stock levels required. If your retail store is interested in learning more about WristRock's Reseller Program, email us at wristrock@sbcglobal.net with a link to your website or a brief company profile. We will get in touch with you with further details.

Q. I can't find the Gibson Flying V on the site any longer. Why would you discontinue such a popular model?
A. All WristRock guitar watch models are "Limited Edition". That means there are only a certain number of each model made. When they are gone, they are gone for good. At one time, there were 4 colors of each model Gibson: Explorer, Les Paul Custom, Firebird, Nighthawk, Flying V, Les Paul SG. Only the Cherry Nighthawk and Gold Les Paul SG remain in stock. The rest of the Gibson models are now out of stock except for whatever remains in stock at WristRock authorized dealers. (See Dealers & Partners Link)
The StratoRock Collection are also Limited Edition and are engraved with serial numbers with a matching etched serial plate. There are 7 fashionable colors of StratoRock. This website will keep you advised of shortages on specific colors as quantities diminsh.
